The Dream
of the Rood:
'the
wondrous
cross on
which the
Prince of
Glory died'
Tuesdays
9, 16 & 23
March 2010
The Dream of
the Rood,
an anonymous
Old English
poem of the
eighth
century,
retells the
Passion of
Christ as an
active
event.
In
this short
course that
will enrich
our
devotions in
Lent, we
will study
the poem
translated
into modern
English and
consider
some of its
biblical,
liturgical
and artistic
parallels.
A
copy of the
poem will be
sent to you
when we
acknowledge
your booking.
